SwimPoolHall Zurich
Temporary Substitute for the City Indoor Swimming Pool

Concept: Water to water

Within the city area practically no room is available for large area temporary use. The lake, however, offers plenty of space for the SwimPoolHall to be installed near the city centre in the bay.

The main criteria are: easy access for pedestrians, well connected to public transport and parking facilities.

A foot bridge gives access to the floating air conditioned hall. A light weight and pneumatically reinforced support structure spans the pool.

Lake water is warmed up to 28°C. Water treatment is effected biologically, no chemicals being applied. Chemical water treatment systems were investigated but proved too cost inten¬sive due to their complex design requiring additional infrastructure on the shore.

The swimming hall offers splendid lake views.
